A propos of nothing really, but our lovely afternoon has just been made more lovely by the arrival across the road of:

Kangaroo in the garden across the road on a Spring afternoon
I could write now about the role of kangaroos in Australian culture … but I think I’ll just leave it at this.
(PS For those interested in such things, it’s an Eastern Grey Kangaroo)
Oh how totally cool, Sue! Oh when I get myself retired….
…and when will that be? It’s a nice life…though I am doing small amounts of contract work I have to admit!
Could be in June, 2010 the way things are going. Too many changes and I think my mom might be needing me more. We’ll see.
Good – as long as it is when YOU want to – that’s the main thing. Making the break is hard after many years in a job you love but if you are people like us with lots of other enthusiasms you can get over it pretty quickly I found.
What a blessing Sue. A beautiful sight! A visitation from a very special being. Here’s hoping she/he isn’t a refugee, or totally lost, or starving etc. Looks healthy enough.
I agree, Steph, it is a blessing – and I think the roo is OK. They are regular visitors in our area. A few years ago we regularly had three on our front lawn, and recently we’ve been seeing a mother and joey around. It didn’t seem too concerned.
